Missions G.O Team
Jesus said…” GO therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19&20. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Christ Church Fraser (CCF) takes that call to heart. Our Global Outreach (GO) team works with local and regional missions and organizations (our Jerusalem & Judea), missions that take us beyond our comfort zone at times (our Samaria), and with missions/missionaries around the world (ends of the earth). As we go out each day in our neighborhoods, state, nation, and across the globe, we work to help spread the Word of God and make this outreach, this mission, an integral part of our lives.
Your CCF GO Team prayerfully considers all missions and works with our Pastor and Church leadership to select where and how to provide support including our time, talent, treasures, and testimony. It’s not just the GO team! Many of us in the church are involved with these and other organizations. We would love you to get involved. We can help you organize mission trips – local, national, or international. We can help you get in touch with local ministries and missions to volunteer. Please, get involved and reach out to your Jerusalem, your Judea, your Samaria, and to the ends of the earth!
The missions our church is involved in are categorized in 4 ways.
- Anchor Missions. These are missions our church is focused on and work to grow our involvement in. Many of us at CCF get very involved in these local missions and they provide a great opportunity to bring the Word of God to many in our local communities.
- Supporting Missionaries. We have 4 key missionaries we help support.
- Local and International Mission Support. There are missions that our church has been led to become a part of through our time, talents, treasures, and testimony. It is through these that you can get quickly involved in mission activity through Christ Church Fraser.
Anchor Missions
Christ Church Fraser has a few missions we are “anchored” in. Our church body focuses a lot of time and effort each year in these:
- Upward Sports. Our CCF team opens hosts a football and cheer league each fall. We get dozens of volunteers to coach, train, referee, mark fields, setup concessions, clean up, pray, meet & greet, and otherwise help make Saturdays at CCF a LOT of fun. For over twenty years, Upward’s purpose has remained the same: to use the power of sports to share the gospel and promote the discovery of Jesus in every community. CCF has key volunteers that lead this effort every year. It’s a great way to get involved in your church and in your community. See the “Upward Sports” section in our web page.
- MCREST. The Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team provides meals, lodging, life-skills training, housing assistance, job readiness training, and emergency shelter 365 days each year to Macomb County’s homeless population. In past years CCF has taken a week each year to house dozens of homeless guests, providing prayer, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, encouragement, fellowship, and a warm place to stay. We are not currently hosting guests, but instead take a week to make breakfast and lunch for up to 150 guests and delivering those meals to MCREST each day.
- Warming Center. CCF used to host a week in the winter to help get the homeless off the streets and provide a place to sleep along with a warm meal. Since the pandemic, MCREST and the Warming Center have combined, and our efforts all go through MCREST.

“Pray! And listen to God! You can do this alone, but find somebody to do it with you”
International Mission Support
International Child Care – Grace Hospital – Haiti
CCF has supported a few different Haiti-based missions since the major earthquake in 2010. We support this hospital through their local Ann Arbor, MI. headquarters. They recognize that their ministry of service in community is a God-given opportunity to be a witness to the love of Jesus-Christ toward suffering humanity, and to be a source of enrichment for those who serve and are served. Their programs center around 3 goals:
- Prevent Illness
- Promote Health
- Restore Health
Children’s HopeChest
CCF is working with another local church (Renaissance Vineyard Church in Ferndale) to give our church body an opportunity to support a “Carepoint” in Woyiraboya, Ethiopia. The goal is to support 110 children and families in this community. CCF isn’t supporting the mission out of its own funds. We are providing the information and opportunity to our church body. If you are interested in supporting Children’s HopeChest and specifically our involvement in the Woyiraboya carepoint, please contact the GO team or the Pastor for more information.
Jeremie Rising
Christ Church has been involved with John and Nancy Smith for the past few years by organizing a “Dresses for Haiti” drive which organizes CCF members who sew dresses and shorts for Haiti children. John and Nancy have been leading teams to Haiti since the devastating earthquake of 2010. They have organized the building of schools, churches (which really serve as 24/7 community centers. . .for worship, for school classrooms, for shelter), orphanage buildings, and shower/toilet facilities. They have organized mobile medical and dental clinics for under- or never-served remote villages. They provide clean-water training and equipment, Covid-education and PPE, and ongoing wellness and medical care for an orphanage in Roseaux and elder care facility in Jeremie. CCF is looking for more ways to get involved to help provide resources for an organization doing so much good in this Haiti community.

Detroit Rescue Mission – Lighthouse
Life Challenge Ministries
Christ Church Fraser has been affiliated with multiple organizations fighting substance abuse and addictions over the past 20 years. We open our doors to local groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, Families Against Narcotics, and Narcotics Anonymous. We are excited to be able to provide some support to the Life Challenge Ministries mission. When you combine proven approaches to battling addition, with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the success rate of beating those additions skyrocket. Adult & Teen Challenge/Life Challenge Ministries is a one-year residential recovery program for men and women with drug, alcohol, and other life-controlling addictions. At ATC/LCM their goal is more than rehabilitation—helping men and women get clean and sober. Their purpose is to make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
All Worthy of Love (AWOL)
All Worthy of Love is a justice focused non-profit in Detroit, MI, Austin TX, and Indianapolis, IN that reaches out to men and women enslaved by street-prostitution. Our GO team works with the Detroit team. Their mission is to restore broken dwellings, based on the teachings of Isaiah 58. They work in a three stranded cord: prevention, rescue, and restoration. They prevent sex-trafficking through awareness. They promote awareness through various speaking engagements at local churches, schools, and small groups to educate the community of modern-day slavery. They rescue victims of trafficking through weekly outreach. They restore victims of trafficking through partnerships with local organizations that offer safe housing and restorative care. They believe the Church is God’s answer to injustice.
Gateway to Glory
Simpson Park Camp
This local camp has been around for over 100 years and many in our church have been involved there for years. The camp consists of seventy-seven rustic lodges, cottages and activity spaces, and over 80 RV and tent campsites, situated village-like on fifty-five acres of woodland and fields. Their values are Family, Retreat, Integrity, Outreach and Worship. Christ Church has been very involved with the camp over the years.
- Family – We believe the traditional family unit is important. we seek to create ministries that allow family members and individuals to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ and for each one to be ministered to in light of their unique needs.
- Retreat – We are purposely built in a simple rustic setting. We encourage disconnecting from the world at large while on our grounds. This is a time to discover God afresh in order to go out and more effectively serve Jesus Christ.
- Integrity – We function with honesty and transparency in all of our dealings with each other, as a camp, with the Romeo Community, and in our business relationships.
- Outreach – We believe the message of Jesus Christ is a message of salvation that gives strength for today and a bright hope for tomorrow. Because of this, we welcome people to Simpson Park to explore what it means to follow Christ and how this can impact their life.
- Worship – We use stories and sermons, music and prayer, or simply exploring the beauty of the setting in our worship. We desire that people regenerate and explore how God can become central to their lives.
